Niagara Falls is more than just a scenic wonder—it’s a hub of natural science,
Canadian history, and environmental inquiry. As part of our commitment to
experiential learning, this trip connected lessons from Geography, Physics, and
Environmental Science to a real-world setting. Students explored the geological
formation of the falls, learned about hydroelectric power generation, and reflected on
the cultural significance of the site in Canadian heritage.

One of the most exhilarating moments of the day was the Niagara Falls Zipline to the
Falls experience. Soaring above the Niagara River with the mist rising below, students
enjoyed a breathtaking aerial view of the Horseshoe Falls. For many, it was a thrilling
first-time adventure and a unique way to experience the sheer scale and force of the
falls.

Armed with cameras and smartphones, students took part in a mini photo competition
titled “Niagara Through Our Eyes.” Dozens of striking photos were submitted
capturing misty rainbows, powerful currents, and candid moments with friends. A
selection of standout student photography will be featured in the next edition of the
Maplewood Magazine.
